Every year, jewelry designers, wholesalers, retailers, marketers, and jewelry and gemstone aficionados travel to Las Vegas for the largest jewelry industry tradeshow in the US.  This year’s JCK Las Vegas show too place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and ran from May 29 to June 2, and thousands of exhibitors attended from around the world.

Among these exhibitors was our very own Charles & Colvard®, creators of The World’s Most Brilliant Gem®.  While event attendees checked out the amazing beauty and sparkle of moissanite at the C&C booth, our friends were keeping their eyes and ears open for the latest trends in the jewelry world.

Meagan Moore, Inventory Analyst at LuluAvenue®:

“Brass was being used more than any other metal in the design and fashion sections of the show. Another major trend in the fashion jewelry area was ‘Bigger is Better’. There were numerous stackable bracelets and layered necklaces, along with large statement necklaces.”

Kristin Carter, Merchandising Manager, Moissanite.com®:

“Textured metals were big at the show this year. Everything from polished to matte to ribbed made an appearance. Rings featuring geometric shapes such as squares and triangles were popular as well. These shapes were paired with double bands to create an ‘open concept’ effect, which I thought was really unique.”

Sondra Johnson, Director of Merchandising, Charles & Colvard®:

“Motion was popular this year – from Moissanite in Motion to Diamonds in Motion, it seemed like a number of designers were focused on movement when creating their pieces. I also saw a lot of mixed metals. Rose gold and yellow gold in particular seem to be making a comeback, particularly in two-toned items.”
